Margaret (Amy Ryan), an older woman running for District Attorney, panics after a young man dies in her hotel room. She calls Jack (George Clooney), a seasoned fixer, who arrives to manage the crisis. They find the young man, known as the Kid, had died by accident, jumping onto a glass table. Another fixer, Nick (Brad Pitt), arrives to help, and they uncover drugs and a hidden camera, hinting at a setup. As they strategise, the Kid revives. Jack and Nick subdue him and seek help from June, an old associate. The Kid escapes, only to be recaptured and reveals his involvement with a drug kingpin. The duo tracks a pager inside a club, narrowly avoiding a confrontation with a criminal named Dimitri. After following the Kid to a drug drop and escaping an ambush, Jack and Nick reflect on the bizarre circumstances.
