Walter Fielding (Tom Hanks) and Anna Crowley (Shelley Long) are a young couple desperately searching for a new home—but with limited funds, their options are bleak. That is, until they encounter a charming, eccentric old man who offers them a sprawling, picturesque mansion for a suspiciously low price. It seems too good to be true... and it is. The moment they move in, the dream home turns into a nightmare—starting with a collapsing staircase, a bathtub crashing through the ceiling, and even the chimney tumbling into the living room. What follows is a hilarious chain of catastrophic repairs as the couple tries to renovate the house before it collapses completely. But fixing it proves just as chaotic as living in it.

otsoNY Comments: The rooftop running track at the James E. Coles Sports and Recreation Center was resurfaced in 2012 with a new colour scheme in the school colours. The building at 181 Mercer Street was demolished between August 2016 and early 2017. Demolition began in August 2016 to make way for NYU's new 23-story academic facility, the John A. Paulson Center. The Coles Center, which had served as NYU's primary athletic facility, was officially closed in February 2016. The new building officially opened to students in the spring semester of 2023, marking a major milestone in NYU’s campus expansion.
