Terry Gionoffrio (Julia Garner), a ballerina who dreams of fame and popularity but suffers a terrible ankle injury during practice. Moving into her new apartment, she struggles to find a new sense of purpose while battling personal demons. Her moping is interrupted by her creepy neighbors, the Castevets. Terry begins to unveil a dark secret about her apartment and its previous tenant, realising that the same fate may befall her.

otsoNY Comments: It is difficult to be completely sure that the exterior shots of the Dakota are actually real or simply recreated with the use of special effects, as the close up shots do not match the entrance and there is a single yellow line seen behind Julia Garner, whereas West 72nd Street has a double yellow line running down the middle.

otsoNY Comments: London served as the primary filming location for "Apartment 7A", with its historical streets and buildings substituting for New York. The production team shot many exterior scenes in some of London's older neighbourhoods and used a film studio for set construction. They employed a soundstage to replicate most of the indoor settings depicted in the movie. The studio facilitated the use of visual effects to recreate historical New York scenes, featuring busy streets and dense mid-rise buildings. This arrangement was crucial for crafting the film's atmospheric apartment scenes, featuring narrow, eerie hallways and pastel-coloured rooms that heightened the movie's suspense.
